The C-SCDC Li-HEAP program is designed to help low-income households in Crawford and Sebastian County with their heating or cooling bills. The program does not help with water bills.
The Winter Regular Program is designed to help with heating bills. The main requirements are:
Must meet low-income
guidelines (See below)
Have a current
heating bill (electric or gas), or your heating costs are included in
your rent, or you heat with wood or propane
Must supply
ALL
or the previous month’s income.
The Regular Assistance payment is a one time payment and is based on a payment chart supplies by Arkansas Department of Health in Little Rock.
The Winter Regular program in the past has started in January and will probably begin again sometime in January 2009.
The Winter Crisis Assistance Program is to help low-income households with a current gas or electric shut-off notice, or if you do not have heating at the time of application, or if your propane is at 10% or less. The main requirements are:
Must meet low-income
guidelines (see below)
Have a current
shut-off notice (electric or gas), or proof that your heating is
disconnected , or
your propane is at 10% or less
Must supply
ALL
or the previous month’s income.
The Crisis Assistance payment is a one time payment and is what you are current due for shut-off, or what it will take to reconnect your services, or how much it will take to get you propane UP TO $300.00.
If you receive assistance on either one of the program, you cannot apply again until the new program starts in the following year.
Assurance 16 is designed to help low-income households become more self-sufficient. The requirements are:
You must sign an
agreement to participate, which you agree to budget counseling,
weatherization training.
You must have
monthly income.
A
high utility bill.
Some of the assistance we have performed in the past is checking for gas leaks, repairing any gas leaks, replacing refrigerators and stoves with more energy efficient ones, replacing hot water heaters.

Eligibility for winter fuel assistance is determined by the amount of income
a family receives. To be

These income amounts are slightly higher than last year, which allows
more families to receive benefits.
